Talal's journey with salsa started back in 2001 when he unknowingly walked into a salsa social in downtown Brussels-- and he has since wanted to bring this joy of dancing and creativity to his students around the world.

His passion for over 20 years is teaching the art of salsa, including leading courses and workshops, and performing internationally throughout Europe, Africa, and Asia at salsa congresses and festivals.

With the inception of the Backyard, Talal wanted to combine and share his love for live music, salsa, dance, and teaching-- all under one roof.

Majdouline was born in Brussels and started dancing ballet, jazz and hip hop at a very young age. Through sheer luck, she discovered Kizomba while driving a friend to class one day, and fell in love with the dance at first sight.

Saber grew up between Morocco, Cameroon, Oman, and France, where he also unexepctedly discovered Kizomba while dancing hip hop. In 2015 he moved to Belgium where he met Majdouline, and they commenced their adventures in Kizomba together.

 

They now regularly teach Kizomba at conferences and festivals internationally, where they are renowned for their teaching methodology and style. 

It all started in 2012, when Jae discovered bachata by watching videos. His interest was caught, and he made his first steps into this dance world. Soon, the videos he watched became his first teachers.

 

The bachatero journey began when he met the founders of the Bachata Sensual style, Korke y Judith. He traveled from festival to festival, one country to another, to follow them with one thing in mind: learn from the best.

 

In 2018, taking his passion to the next level, he got certified by Korke y Judith as a Bachata Sensual official Instructor. He thereafter joined the Sensual Bachata family, learning from the best artists and teachers.

 

Today, Jae’s dancing journey is driven by the desire to share his knowledge and passion: Sensual Bachata.
